PeaceHelix
is a global vision company dedicated to fostering peace and prosperity through
commerce and enterprise. The
vision and purpose of the company evolved over several years through the work
of its director Melanie Flory, senior researcher, lecturer and
psychologist. Frustrated by the
results of her own and other scientists’ research in the field of war-related
trauma, Melanie began to draw on the emerging neurobiological research findings
of leading clinicians and scientists to understand the effects of war on the
anatomy and physiology of the brain.
Her
continuing field-work with trauma populations began to give her a glimpse, and
then a much bigger vision of the issues that are at the heart of those affected
by war. The generosity and trust
with which people affected by war have shared their dreams and hopes for a
better tomorrow, touched and inspired Melanie’s own vision to establish
PeaceHelix, with the intention of building and developing it into a world-class
company with a reputation for applying high quality, socially responsible,
sustainable, inspiring, and innovative thinking to the problems of
powerlessness, illiteracy, and poverty in war zones.
